Artist Submissions
gallery nrc is interested in showing the work of photographers from Colorado and the Rocky Mountain west. If you are an emerging or established photographer from Colorado or the Western United States and are interested in showing your work in a gallery setting, we would love to review your work.
There are various options for shows at gallery nrc as detailed below. Prior to submitting your work, please be sure to review all of the available options.
Gallery Exhibition Opportunities
Solo Shows
A solo show is a great opportunity for a photographer who has had their own shows in the past or is ready to move forward from group shows. Prior to submitting to a solo show, gallery nrc recommends scheduling a portfolio review if you have yet to have your own show in a gallery. The solo shows at gallery nrc may consist of the whole gallery space, or just the primary front area which is 35 feet of wall space.
If you are interested in a solo show, please send us the following items :
- low-res jpgs of 3 or 4 sample pieces a maximum of 1024 pixels wide.
- For each of these sample pieces include the image title, date, dimensions, media, and price.
- Include a bio about yourself. (250 words max)
- Include a artists statement. (250 words max)
- Include your artist resume, including all shows you have participated in the past three years.
- Provide a link to your website.
This information will be reviewed by our staff to determine if there is a fit for gallery nrc. Notifications are sent to all individuals who submit materials for review and as the number of submissions varies during the course of the year we are unable to provide an exact length of time until you will receive notification.
There is a set hanging fee in addition to a commission fee on all work sold during a solo show.
Group and Juried Shows
A group or juried show is an exhibition featuring anywhere from 2 to 12 photographers at the gallery. These shows may involve themes or an open subject matter depending on the month.
The group shows consists of a group of photographers invited to show at the gallery or a group presenting a submission similar to a solo show. There is a set hanging fee in addition to a commission fee on all work sold during the group show.
Juried shows are set on a theme and the selected pieces which are shown at the gallery are selected by an artist or community member not associated with gallery nrc. At the call for entry the subject matter as well as a bio of the judging committee will be provided. For juried shows, there is an entry fee in addition to a commission fee on all work sold during the show.
If you would like to be notified when the call for entry is available,
Community Shows
In December of each year, gallery nrc hosts it's annual Community Show which is open to all photographers. The call for entries takes place in September and is open until all of the available spaces are filled. If you would like to be notified when the call for entry is available,
